They're pretty much the Target ones, but 3-4X as big, and less derped/scrunchy-nosed. Rainbow Dash's mane is still missing 2 colors, though, and her wings are a bit off.

They are 12$, but they only had 2 of each.

I still don't see why they don't get one of the many great plushy makers out there to design their own line of toys. Seriously, would it be so hard to find and hire someone from the fandom to do this?

People doing stuff in their living room does not scale to industrial sizes well, it's a whole different kind of production. I doubt lack of people able to make prototypes is the problem - it's pretty obvious Hasbro has some issues with the variability of their production capabilities from how long it took them to get stuff to market thus far.

I assume they've got to find a design that's cheap and easy to mass produce in a factory. That's not something people in the fandom have experience with.

Also, most of these are still going to be bought for little girls who aren't as picky as us.

I'm not sure if that's true anymore. Little girls might be more common than Bronies, but we definitely buy a lot more per capita.
